PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 27, 2026 – Three-time MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt was the class of the field for the fifth time in 2026 in the 25-lap Plymouth Dirt Track Racing main event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 27.

Outside front row starter Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg seized the lead on the first lap of the 25-lap 360 Sprint Car main event. While Krebsbach commanded the top spot in the early going, third starter Ben Schmidt began his march to the front by sliding past defending Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champ Kevin Karnitz of West Bend to take third on lap 5.

On lap 11, Schmidt assumed second with a daring three-wide move, during which he split a lapped car and polesitter Tyler Davis of Franklin heading into turn one.

The first of four caution flags flew on lap 13 for the stalled car of Jake Zimmerman of Pewaukee. On the restart, Schmidt pulled off a slider to clear Krebsbach for the lead in turn two.

After three more cautions for single-car spins on laps 16, 18, and 19, Schmidt controlled each restart to pull away to his fifth 2026 Midwest Sprint Car Association, fourth A-main victory of the 2026 campaign and 57th career MSA triumph. It was also Schmidt's fourth triumph of the 2026 season at Plymouth and 32nd overall A-main win at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

T.J. Smith of Greenville moved up from the fifth starting spot to take second, sixth starter Tristan Furseth of Cambridge was third, Karnitz wound up fourth, and Shane Wenninger of Kewaskum advanced six spots from 11th at the start to round out the top five in Bill Taylor’s No. 69 machine.

Billy Kreutz of Kiel was the overall fastest qualifier in the MSA 60 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.860 seconds.

The ninth event of the 2026 MSA campaign drew 25 360 Sprint Cars.

The next event on the 2026 MSA calendar is the Independence 30 at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Thursday, July 2, featuring a top prize of $1,776.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m.
