(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 31, 2025 – Two-time and defending MMW Industrial Supply and Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth proved to be the class of the field in claiming his second 25-lap A-main victory of the 2025 season in flag-to-flag fashion at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, May 31.
Schmidt outpowered polesitter Brady Portschy of Plymouth to surge into the top spot on the opening lap of the 360 Sprint Car main event with Clayton Rossman of Wadsworth, Ill., who started fourth, following in second.
Schmidt ran away to build up a significant lead before he caught the rear of the field on lap 7. Rossmann was able to close briefly on Schmidt before the veteran Sprint Car competitor found another gear to slice his way through slower traffic in clinical fashion.
As the leaders sliced their way through the rear of the field, third starter Kevin Karnitz of West Bend slipped past Rossmann to seal second on lap 12. Two laps later, sixth starter Alex Pokorski of West Bend assumed third by working past Rossmann.
With 10 laps to go, Schmidt had built up a huge half-lap, 6-second lead over Karnitz. Schmidt retained his sizable lead down the stretch to post his second A-main victory of the 2025 campaign and 48th career MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car A-main win.
It was also Schmidt’s 27th career PDTR 360 Sprint A-main victory, which moved him into sole possession of second place on the all-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car wins list.
Karnitz finished second, Pokorski was third in his first appearance of the 2025 season in PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car action, three-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Donny Goeden of Kewaskum placed fourth after starting seventh and Rossmann rounded out the top five.
Steven Ruh of New Holstein won the 12-lap MSA-PDTR 360 Sprint Car B Main
Two-time Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Winged Super Modified champ Billy Kreutz of Kiel earned his second fast qualifier award of the 2025 season in the 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.721 seconds.
The fourth event of the 2025 PDTR campaign attracted a season-high 28 MSA-PDTR 360 Sprint Cars.
After visiting Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, June 1, the MSA will support a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, June 6.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m., with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and racing is to commence at 7:30 p.m.
