(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 6, 2026 – Three-time MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth collected his third straight main event triumph of the 2026 season before a record World of Outlaws Night crowd at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 6,
Â
Defending Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend seized the lead at the start of the 25-lap main event with third starter Joseph Hintz of Burnett following in second.
Â
On lap 7, Karnitz caught the back of the field and began to slice his way through slower traffic, which allowed the lead gap to dwindle quickly. Meanwhile, Ben Schmidt, who started sixth, slipped into second on lap 8 before vaulting into the lead in turn three on lap 9.
Â
Two laps later, Hintz charged in to steal the top spot away from Schmidt as the leaders weaved their way through lapped traffic.
Â
Hintz maintained the top spot with Schmidt and Karnitz trailing close behind until the first of two caution flags appeared on lap 16 when Billy Kreutz of Kiel stopped in turn two.
Â
On the restart, Schmidt used a strong move to power past Hintz and seize the top spot. The 26-year veteran quickly built up a full straightaway lead over Hintz before the second and final caution flag appeared on lap 23 when Chris Clayton of Waldo lost a right rear tire in turn three.
Â
Following a single-file restart, Schmidt again commanded the lead over the final two laps on the way to his 55th career MSA main event victory.
Â
Hintz was second, outside front row starter T.J. Smith of Greenville placed third, Karnitz took fourth, and Tyler Davis of Franklin bolted up nine spots to place fifth, after starting 14th.
Â
Ben Schmidt collected the overall fast qualifier award with a lap of 12.584 seconds.
Â
The MSA Sprints are back in action on Saturday, June 13 at The Plymouth Dirt Track, along with the Badger Midgets, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods.
Â
Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
